Are you looking for a part-time job that will equip you with essential skills and community to thrive?

This program is much more than just a job. It’s an opportunity to grow in many important areas of life while being part of a supportive and diverse community. You will earn $15/hour to start (with regular increases) and receive training and mentorship to help you succeed in the American workplace. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Hands-on Barista Training: Learn how to make excellent coffee, including espresso, latte art, and more.
  • Customer Service and Workplace Training: Learn how to serve customers, manage money, and be part of an American workplace.
  • Life-Skills Classes: Build skills in food safety, US systems and culture, customer service and the workplace, digital and financial literacy, and job readiness. These essential skills will prepare you for future success, whether in coffee or another field.
  • Leadership Development: Get trained to manage others and lead a team as you grow in your role.
  • Personal Mentorship: Build relationships with people in the community and work together to achieve your goals, whether it’s getting your driver’s license, navigating legal issues, or exploring Fort Collins.
  • English Immersion: Practice and learn English in a supportive immersion environment designed to help you gain confidence and fluency.
  • Community Involvement: Join community events and workshops to build strong connections and expand your social network.

Who can apply?

  • Have immigrant status or moved to the U.S. after 2016
  • Have a work visa or legal work status
  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Can communicate in English at an intermediate level or higher
  • Are looking for your first or second job in the U.S.
  • Are open to working part-time (18-22 hours each week)
  • Available to work shifts each week between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday at the coffee shop
  • Commit to being in the program for at least 7 months, and no more than 18 months
  • Attend Life Skills classes, and meet with a mentor (provided for you) in addition to your barista shifts
